Booking Reminders

What is this screen?

The Booking Reminders screen controls whether Patrick Connect notifies you when one of your bookings opens, and when it's allowed to do so. If you drive a regular shift, you can restrict reminders to the hours and days you actually work so the app doesn't wake you up on your night off.

You reach it from the Profile tab: tap Settings, then under Open Booking Reminder tap Receive Reminder.

What can you do here?

  • Turn booking reminders on or off: Choose whether you get reminded at all
  • Choose a schedule: Receive reminders always, during the day, during the night, or in a time window you define
  • Set a custom time range: Pick your own start and finish times
  • Choose days of the week: Limit custom reminders to particular days
  • Save your changes: Apply the settings to your account

Understanding the screen

Status card

At the top is a card showing the current state of your reminders:

  • A bell icon — active when reminders are on, crossed out when they're off
  • A short description: "You will receive reminders for upcoming bookings" or "You will not receive any booking reminders"
  • Currently ON or Currently OFF, with a switch to change it

Use the switch to turn reminders on or off. When you turn them off, the schedule options disappear and a note explains that more reminder settings will be added in future updates.

Reminder Schedule

When reminders are on, you choose one of four options:

  • Always: You're reminded whenever a booking opens, at any hour, on any day
  • Day (4am - 4pm): Reminders only between 4am and 4pm
  • Night (4pm - 4am): Reminders only between 4pm and 4am
  • Custom: You choose the hours and days yourself

Only one option can be selected at a time.

Custom Time Range

This section appears only when Custom is selected. It has two buttons:

  • From: The time reminders should start
  • To: The time reminders should stop

Tap either button to open your phone's time picker and choose a time.

Days of Week

Also shown only for Custom. Seven round chips represent Monday through to Sunday, in that order. A highlighted chip means reminders are allowed on that day; a grey chip means they aren't. Tap a chip to switch it on or off.

All seven days are enabled by default.

Save Changes

The Save Changes button appears at the bottom of the screen only once you've changed something. Until then there's nothing to save, so the button stays hidden.

How to use this screen

Turn reminders off

  1. Open Profile > Settings > Receive Reminder
  2. Tap the switch in the status card so it reads "Currently OFF"
  3. Tap Save Changes

What happens: You stop receiving booking reminder notifications. You can turn them back on from this screen at any time.

Only get reminders during your shift

  1. Make sure reminders are switched on
  2. Under Reminder Schedule, select Day (4am - 4pm) or Night (4pm - 4am)
  3. Tap Save Changes

Set your own hours and days

  1. Make sure reminders are switched on
  2. Under Reminder Schedule, select Custom
  3. Tap From and choose the time reminders should start
  4. Tap To and choose the time they should stop
  5. Under Days of Week, tap the day chips so only your working days are highlighted
  6. Tap Save Changes

What happens: Your preferences are saved to your account, and you're returned to the Settings screen with the updated status shown next to "Receive Reminder".

Discard your changes

Tap the back arrow (←) in the top-left instead of Save Changes. Nothing is saved and your previous settings remain in place.

Mobile tips

  • Save before leaving: Changes only take effect once you tap Save Changes — backing out discards them
  • Custom is per-day and per-hour: Both the time range and the day chips apply, so a reminder only arrives if it falls inside the window on an enabled day
  • Time range and days apply to Custom only: If you pick Always, Day or Night, the custom settings are ignored
  • Overnight windows are fine: A range like 6pm to 6am works — it simply carries over midnight
  • Reminders still need notifications enabled: If notifications are turned off for the app in your phone's settings, nothing arrives regardless of what you choose here. The Settings screen shows a warning when this is the case.

Common questions

Q: How do I get to this screen?

Tap the Profile icon (person) in the bottom navigation, then Settings, then "Receive Reminder" under Open Booking Reminder.

Q: What is a booking reminder?

A notification telling you that one of your bookings has opened, so you know you can head to the terminal.

Q: Why can't I see the schedule options?

They only appear when reminders are switched on. Turn the switch in the status card on and the Reminder Schedule section appears.

Q: Why is there no Save button?

The Save Changes button only appears once you've actually changed something. If you haven't made a change, there's nothing to save.

Q: What times do Day and Night cover?

Day is 4am to 4pm, and Night is 4pm to 4am. If those don't match your shift, use Custom.

Q: Can I set a time range that runs past midnight?

Yes. Set From to your evening start time and To to your morning finish time — for example 6pm to 6am.

Q: Do the day chips apply to Day and Night as well?

No. The custom time range and the day chips apply only when Custom is selected.

Q: What do the letters on the day chips mean?

They're the days of the week, running Monday to Sunday from left to right. Two of them show T (Tuesday and Thursday) and two show S (Saturday and Sunday) — go by their position.

Q: I turned reminders on but I'm still not getting notifications. Why?

Check that notifications are enabled for Patrick Connect in your phone's system settings. The Settings screen shows "Notifications are disabled" with a shortcut button if they're switched off.

Q: Will turning off booking reminders stop all notifications?

No. It only stops booking reminders. Terminal messages and visit status notifications are controlled separately on the Settings screen.

Q: My changes didn't save. What happened?

If the app couldn't reach the server you'll see an error message. Check your internet connection and tap Save Changes again.
