Help & Support

What is this screen?

The Help & Support screen is the app's built-in library of guides and reference material. It's where you look things up when you're unsure how something works — how bookings behave, what happens during a visit, what the WIM readings mean, and so on. You reach it from the Profile tab by tapping "Help & Support".

The content is published by Patrick and downloaded when you open the screen, so it stays current without you needing to update the app.

What can you do here?

  • Browse popular topics: See the articles other drivers look up most often
  • Explore topics by category: Expand a category to see everything published on that subject
  • Read a full article: Open any document to read the complete content

Understanding the screen

At the top of the screen is the Popular section — a straightforward list of the most frequently accessed help documents. It's the quickest starting point when you're not sure where to look.

Tap any entry to open and read it.

Below Popular, help documents are grouped into categories. Each category shows an icon and a name — for example Bookings, Visits, WIM or Notifications. The exact categories depend on what Patrick has published.

Categories start collapsed. Tap a category to expand it and reveal the documents inside; tap it again to collapse it. You can have several categories open at once.

Document view

Tapping a document title opens it in a full-screen reading view. Use the back arrow (←) in the top-left to return to the list of topics, and again to return to the Profile screen.

How to use this screen

Find help on a subject

  1. From the Profile tab, tap "Help & Support"
  2. Scan the Popular list first — common questions usually appear there
  3. If it's not there, find the relevant category under Recommended Topics
  4. Tap the category to expand it
  5. Tap the document title that matches what you need

Return to where you were

  1. Tap the back arrow (←) at the top-left of the document to go back to the topic list
  2. Tap the back arrow again to return to the Profile screen

Mobile tips

  • Start with Popular: These topics are popular because they answer the questions drivers ask most
  • Expand more than one category: Categories stay open as you scroll, so you can compare topics
  • Check before you travel: Read up on procedures before you arrive at the terminal rather than while you're in the queue
  • You need a connection: Help content is downloaded each time you open the screen, so make sure you have signal
  • Still stuck?: Use Feedback to send your question, or Contacts to call the terminal directly

Common questions

Q: How do I get to this screen?

Tap the Profile icon (person) in the bottom navigation, then tap "Help & Support".

Q: Is the help content kept up to date?

Yes. The app downloads the latest documents from Patrick each time you open Help & Support, so you always see the current version — you don't need to update the app to get new help content.

Q: Can I read help topics without an internet connection?

No. The documents are fetched when you open the screen, so you need a connection. If you know you'll be somewhere without signal, read what you need beforehand.

Q: What's the difference between Popular and Recommended Topics?

Popular is a flat list of the most-read articles. Recommended Topics is the full library, organised into categories you can expand by subject.

Q: Why does a category show no documents when I expand it?

That category currently has nothing published in it, or the content is still loading. Try again shortly, or check another category.

Q: Why do the categories look different from last time?

Patrick maintains the categories and documents centrally, so both can change as new material is published.

Q: Can I search the help content?

There's no search box on this screen. Browse the Popular list and the categories to find what you need.

Q: I can't find an answer to my question. What now?

Use the Feedback option in the Profile tab to send your question through, or use Contacts to call the terminal directly if it's urgent.

Q: Is this the same as the Messages screen?

No. Help & Support holds reference guides about using the app and terminal procedures. Messages holds communications sent to you by the terminal, such as announcements and booking updates.
